Meet Your Naturopath
Helen has had a passion for birth since 2000 when she attended her first birth. From then on, she felt a deep desire to attend to women, and serve them during all stages of their pregnancy through labor and beyond. She has served in many roles as a doula ranging from a birth photographer to a quiet support person to an active labor coach when a woman would have otherwise been unsupported. Each time, no matter how big or small of a role she played, she was able to advocate to the miracle of life. While serving women and their families during the birth setting, she began feeling a strong pull toward gaining more education in the field of Natural Medicine.
She chose to attend the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education [NITE] in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan because the curriculum truly focused on Traditional Naturopathy and Drugless Medicine. She completed her degree as a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor [accredited through The American Naturopathic Medical Accreditation Board (ANMAB)] and has run a successful practice ever since. She specializes in Women's Health (though also works with men, women and children), Herbalism and Nutrition. She is trained to use genetic information to create a Nutrigenomics Profile for those seeking the most specific nutritional plan. She works well alongside those who are working with medical doctors offering the best comprehensive care possible to each patient.
